These directories contain various PDP-8 family paper tapes read in by
Jay Jaeger and myself. Tapes might not be complete or correct and the file
names might not be right, but some of the tape files have been used
successfully. There are also several duplicates.

The directories PDP5, PDP8I and PDP8E contain images of paper tapes that
came with each of those machines in my collection. Many of the tapes were
originally developed for and can be used with other models, for instance,
the PDP8I directory contains several classic 8 diagnostics. These tapes were
read in using a relatively slow photoelectric reader connected to the parallel
port of an IBM PC/XT. Each tape was read twice and compared for accuracy. The
project to read in and catalog the tapes was interrupted around 1988. Only
some of the tapes in the PDP8I directory are cataloged, in the file "contents".
The file names were chosen from the name of the tape, and the text in the
contents file is what was written on the label.

The directory TAPES contains images of paper tapes that came with Jay Jaeger's
PDP-8L. These tapes were read with a mechanical reader connected to a PC clone.
The tapes are cataloged in the file "directry.lst".
